HCG in Laboratory Research
HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is a glycoprotein hormone built from two non-covalently associated subunits: an alpha chain common to LH, FSH and TSH, and a hormone-specific beta chain that determines its receptor selectivity. Its high affinity for the luteinizing-hormone/chorionic-gonadotropin (LH/CG) receptor makes it a standard reference ligand in gonadotropin research.
