Tesamorelin is a modified analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone carrying an additional hexenoyl group at the N-terminus. That modification slows enzymatic degradation and gives the molecule a considerably longer working half-life than native GHRH.
It is used in growth hormone and IGF-1 axis research, visceral adipose metabolism models, and preclinical pharmacology comparing modified against unmodified GHRH sequences.
