Epitalon

Epitalon is a four-residue peptide — Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly — derived from a fraction originally isolated from pineal tissue. Its small size and simple sequence make it straightforward to synthesise and handle.

The literature around it concerns telomerase activity, circadian gene expression, and pineal-derived regulatory signalling. It appears most often in cellular senescence assays, telomere-length measurement work, and chronobiology models examining the pineal-circadian axis.
