ARA 290 reproduces a short stretch of the erythropoietin molecule’s helix B domain. What makes it useful as a research tool is selectivity: it engages the innate repair receptor without triggering erythropoiesis, which separates the tissue-protective arm of EPO signalling from its haematopoietic effects.
That separation is why it appears in preclinical models of neuropathic pain, sarcoidosis, diabetic complications, and anti-inflammatory tissue protection.
