IGF-1 LR3 in Laboratory Research
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is an 83-residue analog of insulin-like growth factor 1, modified with an N-terminal extension and an arginine substitution. Those changes reduce its affinity for IGF-binding proteins and give it a markedly longer working half-life than native IGF-1.
Because it remains active in the presence of binding proteins, it is a widely used tool for delivering sustained IGF-1-receptor signalling in cell-based systems.
Research Applications & Study Focus
Research applications include cell-proliferation and differentiation assays, PI3K/Akt and MAPK growth-signalling studies, and use as a defined supplement in cell-culture media.
Consistent lot specification supports reproducible growth-signalling conditions across repeated experiments.
Purity, Handling & Verification
Supplied as a sealed, lyophilized vial for laboratory use. Where a third-party certificate of analysis is available for a batch, it is published on our Certificates of Analysis page against the lot number. Store the lyophilized material cool, dry and out of direct light, and reconstitute with bacteriostatic water under standard aseptic laboratory practice.
This material is offered strictly for in vitro laboratory research use only. It is not for human or veterinary consumption, and not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
