Selank is a synthetic seven-residue peptide built on the tuftsin sequence with a stabilising modification. It is of interest because it modulates anxiolytic pathways without the sedative profile characteristic of benzodiazepine-type GABA-A modulators.
It is applied in anxiety research models, BDNF and neurotrophin expression studies, and immunomodulation assays that trace back to its tuftsin origin.
